Date:

Spring 2022

This project was done in collaboration with Mila Gajic https://milagajic.com/

OSU Immersive History is a location-based augmented reality scavenger hunt that uses the Vuforia framework within the Unity game engine. We created this experience as a fun opportunity for guests visiting the Ohio State campus, and a way for them to engage and connect with the environment around them.

By using physical objects around campus as image markers, we were able to "cheat" location-based augmented reality. We conducted research focusing on physical elements as image markers, and how well these elements could work for augmented reality. Then we incorporated our findings into this AR game experience as a way of showcasing how physical objects can be used for 2D image markers.
